Wayland Union Schools' Return to Learn Plan will follow the MI Safe Start Plan phases for Region 3. Region 3 is currently in Phase 4 (as of 7/24/2020) of the MI Safe Start Plan. This allows our schools to provide an option for face-to-face instruction. If Region 3 is changed to Phase 1-3, all instruction will move to remote instruction. If Region 3 is changed to Phase 5 or 6, all instruction with the exception of VAAC (explained below), will return to face-to-face instruction.
If Region 3 is in Phase 4 of the MI Safe Start Plan, Wayland Union Schools is committed to providing our families with choices that meet the instructional needs of our students.
The options are: Face-to-Face, Wildcats Online, and Virtual Academy of Allegan County (VAAC). Please read below to learn more about each option being provided to our families.
Our plan is flexible as we continue to work with guidance provided by the State of Michigan, Michigan Department of Education, Allegan County Health Department, and Allegan Area Educational Service Agency. Families are encouraged to review the choices offered in order to select an option that will best meet the needs of their family. To maximize health and safety efforts, Wayland Union Schools encourages families to select Wildcats Online or VAAC, if you are able to keep your child at home.
