Non-Homestead Millage Renewal

Wayland Union Schools is up fNon-Homestead Millage Renewal for Wayland Union Schools. Vote on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Zero Increase to Homeowner taxes!or a Non-Homestead Millage Renewal on the May 7th, 2024 ballot. The non-homestead renewal only applies to rental properties, business properties, and vacation homes - homeowner and agricultural property taxes will not be impacted. 

With your help, this seven-year millage will support day-to-day operations, such as instructional materials, teachers, support staff, and school counselors. Without the operating millage, the school district would experience an estimated $4.4 million loss in revenue each year, which could cause significant cuts to programs and services for our students.

To cast your vote on the May 7th ballot, please make sure you’re a registered voter by visiting michigan.gov/sos. To receive an absentee ballot, please fill out the absentee voter application from your local city or township clerk, or online once you’ve registered to vote. Absentee voter applications must be submitted to your local clerk’s office by May 3rd, 2024 at 5pm. If you’re planning to mail in your application, please plan to do so no later than April 22, 2024. Absentee ballots must be received by 8pm on May 7th, 2024 to be eligible. In-person voting will be available on May 7th, 2024 from 7am - 8pm.
