OK2SAY and Clayful
OK2SAY is a program designed to empower Michigan students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, and law enforcement to share and respond to student safety threats.
The goal of OK2SAY is to stop harmful behavior before it occurs by encouraging students to report threatening behavior to caring adult authorities who can help. Featuring a comprehensive communication system that facilitates tip submissions through telephone, text, website, e-mail, and multimedia technologies, OK2SAY enables Michigan residents to confidentially report student safety threats to trained program operators, who forward tips on to local law enforcement agencies, school officials, or community mental health service programs for a timely response.
Clayful
Up until just recently, tutoring was seen only as a way to close a learning gap. Today, tutoring is not only helping students catch up, it’s also being used to help students get ahead.
Did you know.... the same thing applies to our students’ mental health?
Coaching and counseling had been seen as only useful to students who have “problems”, yet we now know that supporting students with their mental health can decrease behavior issues, improve academic performance, decrease family conflicts, and more.
We’re excited to utilize grant funds to partner with Clayful - an on demand, text based coaching system for students. Clayful provides your child with day-to-day support through text based Coaching Chats with a Certified Coach. Your child will receive extra support to help them reduce stress, reach goals, and build healthy habits for success.
With Clayful Coaching kids see:
● More self regulation and self awareness
● Stronger self-confidence
● Improved social awareness
● Better communication and relationships (yes, with you too!)
We partnered with Clayful because safety is their #1 priority:
● All coaches are premium background checked, certified, and trained.
● All communication between students and coaches is closely monitored in real time.
● They’re providing a safe space for students to feel comfortable sharing - all conversations are kept confidential, even from us at school, unless they’re legally required to share by law.
For students under 12, parents must provide consent BEFORE students can utilize Clayful’s services. Students 12 and older can automatically chat with Clayful Coaches unless a parent removes consent. To provide consent (for students younger than 12) or remove consent (for students 12 and older) please sign this form.
