Wayland Union Middle School
This July Mrs. Foster, a 6th grade science teacher at our middle school, was fortunate to be chosen to attend the NEH Landmark Workshop: Space Age on the Space Coast.
Wayland Union Schools is seeking Key Communicators for the 2024-2025 school year.
Students in Bee Club started installing their OWN BEES into the hives that they will manage for the next few years.

Meet the Principal!
Rachel Cimek joined Wayland Union Schools in 2020. She earned both her Bachelor's degree in Social Studies and Education and her Master's in Educational Leadership from GVSU. Previously, Mrs. Cimek taught 3rd - 5th grade, was the Assistant Principal for Dorr Elementary, and was the Principal for Baker Elementary. “Joining our Wayland community as we partner in supporting our youth through their middle years is something I'm looking forward to! It is an honor to walk alongside our dedicated staff in creating an environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally.”
Meet the Assistant Principal!
Andrew Augustin has been a member of the Wayland Union Staff since 2021. He received his Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from GVSU, his Master's in Curriculum and Educational Technology from Ball State University, and his Master's in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University. Previously, Mr. Augustin has worked as an Assistant principal , a secondary English Teacher, and a coach for various sports. “I am excited to start in my new position as assistant principal at Wayland Union Middle School. I appreciate being able to continue to serve the district that my family calls home. This district believes that "all means all," and I look forward to working with the staff and teachers, parents, students, and the community to ensure that our schools are a safe place for every student to show continuous growth and success.”
