Frequently Asked Questions

Will an after-school snack be provided?

Yes, we will provide an after-school snack for all children. Children may also bring their own snack for after school.

Do you accept childcare financial assistance?

At this time, we are not set up to accept childcare assistance, but we hope to make this option available in the future.

Can I add on the half-days later if needed?

Yes! We will send out half-day sign-ups one month prior to the date.

What if my work schedule changes?

You will be able to make changes to your childcare schedule with proper notification. We will be sending out monthly schedule confirmations, at which time you will be able to make changes.

How will my child get to their class?

Our staff will make sure all children are escorted to breakfast, their classroom, or the bus (for Steeby students), depending on the grade level. We will follow the building procedure for supervision regarding morning drop-off/breakfast and provide extra supervision for the first weeks of school until independence and routines are established.

Who is the care provided by?

Wayland Union Schools will be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising the childcare staff.

Will this be a licensed program?

Yes! We currently have a childcare license and will be modifying it to include wrap-around services.

Can we meet the staff before this program starts?

At this time, we are still in the process of recruiting staff for the program. As we get closer to the start of the school year, please reach back out to us about meeting the staff, and we can set something up.

How is payment determined?

Payment is required at the beginning of each month, prior to receiving services. Families will need to update and submit a monthly calendar that specifies each child's attendance dates for the month, which will be used to calculate the billing.

Are you offering drop-in childcare options?

Unfortunately, we do not offer drop-in childcare. However, if you can provide advance notice of when you need care, we may be able to accommodate you if all registration forms are complete. Please note that families are required to complete a monthly schedule for billing and staffing purposes.
