Meet the New Athletic Director!

Please join us in welcoming Bryan Applin as the new Athletic Director for Wayland Union Schools!

Bryan earned his Bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Western Michigan University before completing his Master's degree in Sport Management at the University of Michigan. He brings a wealth of experience to Wayland, including 11 years of collegiate and high school basketball coaching at Western Michigan University, the University of Michigan, Davenport University, and Sparta High School. Most recently, he served as the Athletic Director for Schoolcraft High School, where he spent the past three years supporting student-athletes, coaches, and athletic programs.

Outside of work, Bryan enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and playing sports. He and his wife, Meredith, have been married for six years and are the proud parents of two daughters, Luella (3) and Scout (8 months).

"I am unbelievably excited to join the Wayland Union team to support our student-athletes, coaches, and community as we pursue championships and excellence every day," said Mr. Applin. "What excites me most are the relationships we'll build and the lifelong memories we'll create together as we compete each season. Go Wildcats!"
