Meet the New Early Childhood and Community Education Director!

Please join us in welcoming Karah Rowe as Wayland Union Schools’ new Early Childhood and Community Education Director!

Mrs. Rowe earned her associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Kellogg Community College and her bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Development from Western Michigan University. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Education at Western Michigan University.

Mrs. Rowe brings a wealth of experience working with children and families. Her background includes working in childcare centers, serving at The Blue Wagyu, and most recently working with Community Action of Allegan County. For the past eight years, she has also served as a Head Start teacher right here within Wayland Union Schools.

Outside of work, Mrs. Rowe enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially outdoors. Some of her favorite activities include camping, side-by-side riding, and horseback riding. She has also served as an assistant coach for the Caledonia Equestrian Team for the past six years.

“I am excited to step into this new role and continue contributing to the district by promoting high-quality learning experiences for our youngest learners,” Mrs. Rowe shared. “I look forward to seeing familiar faces while also meeting and supporting more children and families throughout the community.”
