2023 Testing Information: SAT, PSAT 9/10, WorkKeys, and M-Step

2023 PSAT9/10 Information


TESTING SCHEDULE:

Wednesday, April 12: PSAT 9 and PSAT 10

7:35 a.m. -11:30 a.m. (approximately)


When: Wednesday, April 12. Check-in begins at 7:25 a.m.

Where:

WHS & CCA Freshmen:

  • WHS Freshaman: Check-in at classrooms assigned. Room assignments will be posted on March 27th by the Main Office and Grand Hall/cafeteria. Make sure to check before test day!
  • CCA Freshman: Room B-204
  • Freshman students with an IEP will be given their room assignments. 

WHS & CCA Sophomores:

  • WHS Sophomores: Main Gym
  • CCA Sophomores: Room C-302
  • Sophomore students with an IEP will receive room assignments at a later date.

Students will be dismissed for the day at the conclusion of testing (approximately 11:30 a.m.), however, this will be later for students with an IEP and testing with accommodations.

Buses will run on the normal schedule. If students need to stay, they will report to the Grand Hall. Sack lunches can be purchased however, students MUST turn in the lunch form by March 29th (forms are available in the Main Office starting March 22nd).


WHAT TO BRING?

  • No. 2 pencils
  • An approved calculator. If you do not have a calculator, one will be provided for you.
  • Dress in layers (sweatshirt/hoodie)
  • Snacks/water (these items will not be allowed in the testing room, but can be left in the hallway).

WHAT NOT TO BRING?

No electronics of any kind are allowed in the testing room! This includes your cell phone, iPad, smartwatches, and fit-bits.

You may not access these items during breaks.

You will not have access to your lockers, so please leave items at home or in your backpack in the hallway, where you check in for testing.


SACK LUNCH OPTION

If students would like to order lunch on test day, they must pre-order.

Pre-order forms will be available in the main office on March 22nd.

Forms are due March 29th and can be turned into the cafeteria.

Students are required to pick up their lunch, in the cafeteria, at the end of their test.


PREADMINISTRATION

When: March 27th

Sophomores: 5th Hour in Aux Gym

Freshman: 6th Hour in Aux Gym

CCA Freshman & Sophomore: With Mr. Braginton

Information about the 2023 Junior MME (Michigan Merit Exam)


ALL JUNIORS (WHS & CCA ) ARE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SPRING MME. EXAMS WILL BE CONDUCTED AT WAYLAND HIGH SCHOOL IN PERSON.

Students must complete all 3 tests as part of their graduation requirement. 


TESTING SCHEDULE:

  • IEP/504 Accommodated Students will test on April, 19

Tuesday, April 18: M-STEP

  • IEP/504 Accommodated Students will test on April, 21

SAT:

Wednesday, April 12

When:

  • Wednesday, April 12
  • Check-in begins at 7:25 in the Aux Gym hallway.
  • If students are late on the day of test, they will NOT be allowed to complete the test. Late students will have to complete the SAT on the makeup day (April 25th). 

Where:

  • WHS Students: Will test in the Aux Gym
  • CCA Students: Will test in room D-407 (Ms. Fontana's room)
  • IEP/504 Students: Will receive room assignments at a later date. 

Note:

STUDENTS: Do not bring any electronic devices with you to the test! This includes your cell phone, iPad, smartwatches, and fit bits.

You may not access these items during breaks.

You will also be required to disable any alarms throughout testing time.

You will not be able to access your locker during and after the test, so either leave items in your car or in your backpack in the hallway. Remember, you may not access any electronic devices during break times! They must remain kept away.

Accessing these items during testing time and breaks will result in you being excused from testing and your test scores will be canceled.

Students must complete a pre-order form, available in the main office beginning March 22nd and are due Wednesday, March 29th to the cafeteria.

Students are required to pick up their lunch at the conclusion of the test.


BREAKFAST

Breakfast will be available for purchase in the Grand Hall before each test day.


AFTER THE TEST

Juniors testing in the Aux Gym and room D-407 will be dismissed at the conclusion of the test, at approximately 1:00.

Students with an IEP or 504 plan will be given their approximate dismissal times. Students are expected to arrange a ride after the test.

Buses will run on their normal schedule so students that were unable to arrange for transportation can wait in the Grand Hall until 2:35.


P/SAT Sack Lunch Form

Will be available starting March 22 in the Main Office. 


WORKKEYS


Thursday, April 13

When:

Where:

  • WHS Juniors:
    • Test in the Aux Gym

AFTER THE TEST

The test will conclude at approximately 11:30. Students will return to their regularly scheduled classes.

AM VoTech students will return to their afternoon schedule.

PM VoTech students will board the bus for the Tech Center. Students will miss first lunch, so VoTech students may choose to pre-order a sack lunch or bring their own. Sack lunch order forms will be available in the main office beginning March 22 and are due Wednesday, March 29 to the cafeteria.

Because the test will conclude at 11:30, students will miss first lunch and all juniors will have second lunch.

M-STEP

When: 

  • Tuesday, April 18
  • The AM test session begins at 7:40 and the PM test session begins at 11:38.

Where: Computer labs. Students will be assigned a test session and computer lab. Beginning April 11th, student testing room assignments are posted in the hallways. 


TEST SESSIONS TIMES

AM Test Session: 7:40 - 10:25

Students will return to their normal schedule after testing is complete

PM Test Session: 11:38 - 2:35

PREADMINISTRATION

What: Preadministration will be held for juniors to complete their demographic information, student questionnaire and the opportunity to select up to four colleges for their SAT scores to be sent to free of charge.

When: March 27 during 2nd and 3rd hour for WHS and CCA students. Students with an IEP will have preadministration with Mr. Warsen and will be notified of their time.

Where: Aux Gym for WHS students, Mr. Braginton's room for CCA students.


For the SAT section of the preadministration, students will be able to select up to four colleges to send their test scores to for free. This reporting code list provides the participating institutions and scholarships.


MAKEUP TESTING


All three tests are a graduation requirement. If you missed a test and do not complete the makeup, you will have to complete it in your senior year!

INFORMATION BELOW IS TENTATIVE AND WILL BE UPDATED CLOSER TO THE DATES PROVIDED


SAT

When: Tuesday, April 25, 7:40 am - (approximately) 12:30 pm

Where: TBD

What to Bring:

  • Pencils
  • Graphing or scientific calculator (calculators will also be provided)
  • Snacks (stay out in the hallway)
  • NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES!

Additional Information: The test will conclude around 12:30. After the test students will have a separate lunch as they will miss 1st and 2nd lunch. Students have the option to pre-order a sack lunch from the cafeteria free of charge. After lunch, students will return to their regular schedule.


WorkKeys

When: TBD, 7:40 am - (approximately) 11:00 am

Where: April 27

What to Bring:

  • Pencils
  • Graphing or scientific calculator (calculators will also be provided)
  • Snacks (stay out in the hallway)
  • NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES!

Additional Information: The test will conclude around 11:00. Students will return to their regular schedule at the conclusion of the test.
