Di Cesare Named New High School Principal

Wayland Union Schools Superintendent, Dr. Christina Hinds, is pleased to announce that Santino Di Cesare will be the new Principal at Wayland Union High School, pending board approval. Di Cesare is a proud graduate of WUHS and is replacing Principal, Tom Cutler, who is retiring at the end of June.

In 2017, Di Cesare was hired at WUHS as the Assistant Principal/Athletic Director and has been the Assistant Principal since March of 2018. Prior to coming to Wayland, he was employed with Muskegon Oakridge Public School as the Athletic Director for the Middle and High School. Prior to serving at Oakridge, he was the Athletic Director for grades 7-12 at The Potter’s House High School and Middle School in Wyoming.

Di Cesare has also worked in collegiate athletics at Hope College in multiple capacities. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Administration from Hope College, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University. While attending Hope College he earned the status of a four year letter winner, All-Conference, and All-American football player.

Superintendent Hinds stated, "Mr. Di Cesare cares deeply for our Wayland Union students, staff, and families. He is vested in our community, is a servant leader, and is passionate about ensuring all voices are heard. I am confident in his ability to provide our high school with courageous and compassionate leadership for years to come."
