WUHS Robotics Team Wins State Championship Blue Banner
Wayland Union High School’s FIRST Robotics Team, #6090, recently showcased its talent and determination at the State Championship competition, hosted by Saginaw Valley State University at the Ryder Center. Following three days of highly competitive matches, the team earned the title of Consumers Energy Foundation Field Champions, forming a winning alliance with Stryke Force and the Calumet CopperBots. The team was also honored with the Autonomous Award, recognizing excellence in programming and robot performance during the autonomous period.
Although the team’s run concluded during the playoff rounds, their performance secured an invitation to compete at the 2026 FIRST World Championship in Houston later this month. This achievement reflects the dedication, innovation, and teamwork demonstrated by both students and mentors throughout the season. Wayland Union Schools proudly celebrates the team’s success and looks forward to cheering them on at the world stage.
