Meet the new Director of Facilities!
Please join us in welcoming Bill McSween as the new Director of Facilities for Wayland Union Schools!
Mr. McSween has dedicated his career to creating safe, welcoming, and well-maintained learning environments for students and staff. Since graduating from Davenport University in 2009, he has built extensive experience in school facilities operations. He began his career as a Custodial Supervisor with Hi-Tec Building Services before serving in the same role at Forest Hills Public Schools and Kentwood Public Schools. Most recently, he served as the Director of Facilities for Kentwood Public Schools, where he led efforts to maintain high-quality facilities that support student learning and district operations.
Originally from Redford, Michigan, Mr. McSween moved to the Grand Rapids area in 2004 to play hockey at Davenport University. While there, he earned both his Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing and his MBA in Strategic Management. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and coaching a local hockey team.
"I am deeply grateful for the opportunity that Wayland has offered me," said Mr. McSween. "My goal is to help create a transformative culture within our facilities department and across the district. Together, we will strive to make Wayland Union Schools a premier destination for our students, staff, and community members."
