Meet the New Dean of Students!

Please join us in congratulating Darrin Door on his new role as Dean of Students at Wayland Union High School!

Mr. Door earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Grand Valley State University with certifications in Group Social Studies and Integrated Science. He joined Wayland Union High School in 2024, where he most recently served as a biology teacher.

Prior to his career in education, Mr. Door proudly served on active duty in the United States Navy. He concluded his military service aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln as the Reactor Department's Machinery Division Leading Petty Officer, where he led a large team of machinist's mates through a challenging Refueling Complex Overhaul.

Outside of school, Darrin enjoys spending time with his wife, their two sons, and their golden retriever, Ike. As a family, they love reading together and exploring nature through leisurely walks.

"I'm excited to get to work as the High School Dean of Students, contributing an authentic and transparent leadership style to the district," said Mr. Door. "I look forward to connecting with students, parents, and community members throughout the coming school year. Go Cats!"
