Outstanding People for Education

Outstanding People in Education is an award the Allegan County School Board Association established 17 years ago. The award recognizes individual who are excelling in their field and/or making an impact in the quality of education in Allegan County. This year we had 91 nominees who were recognized at the board meeting on April 13, 2026. The 3 individuals who were selected to represent the district for the award this year were also announced: Autumn Bonte, Athletic Administrative Assistant at Wayland Union High School; Erin Koopman, Intervention Specialist at Wayland Union High School; and Steve Wright, Bus Driver for our Transportation Department.
