Computer Science Opportunities

This week a group of teachers and administrators from Wayland Union Schools attended an immersive computer science experience with Apple in Chicago. The group learned about Apple's Everyone Can Code curriculum and participated in activities that can be used in K-12 classrooms using student iPads, including teaching students how to create their own apps! The group also participated in activities that allowed them to reflect on current Computer Science opportunities for students at Wayland Union Schools and create a vision for how additional opportunities could be provided in order to provide students with exposure to skills and careers in this area. Later this year, facilitators from Apple will visit classrooms to teach pieces of the curriculum alongside our teachers.
