Pool Groundbreaking Ceremony
Excitement filled the air for the official groundbreaking of our long-anticipated new swimming pool during a ceremony held on April 14th, 2025, at the future WUS Pool site.
District officials, school board members, students, staff, and community members gathered to mark this important milestone, celebrating the beginning of construction on a facility that promises to enhance both athletic programs and community engagement.
Superintendent Tim Reeves addressed the crowd, expressing gratitude to everyone who helped bring the project to this point. “This is more than just a pool — it's an investment in our students, our schools, and our entire community,” he said. “We’re proud to be creating a space where students can learn, compete, and grow.”
The new aquatic facility will serve student-athletes, physical education classes, and will also be open for community use. It will feature diving boards, competitive swimming lanes, spectator seating, and family changing rooms.
Student representatives, district leaders, and community members took turns ceremoniously shoveling dirt, symbolizing the beginning of construction.
