Cultural Presentation of the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi

Today, October 3rd, our 3rd grade students had the opportunity to visit Jijak for a cultural presentation of the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians to help develop an appreciation for the rich and diverse traditions, beliefs and history of the Gun Lake Tribe. Students spent the day learning about Protecting Nokmeskinan (Grandmother Earth), Mnomen (Wild Rice) Processing, Pgenogewen (Lacrosse), Fire Teachings and even a little Social Studies.
