First Robotics Competition of the Season

Robotics team with the industrial award

On March 14th - 16th, Wayland Wildcats First Robotics #6090 had their first district competition of the season in Muskegon. The competition definitely had some ups and downs. They started strong but a hit to the robot caused some small mechanical issues that we were able to fix. During alliance selection the team was chosen to be a part of the 3rd alliance. While they competed strong, they were ultimately eliminated in the quarterfinals.

The team received the Industrial Design Award, which is given to a team that demonstrates industrial design principles through a balance of form, function, and aesthetics. In order to receive this award, the team had to describe how their robot is elegant, efficient, and practical; the entire design had to be worthy of recognition; and the robot had to distinguish itself from others by its aesthetic and functional design. Congratulations on a great start to your season!
